The Irish Corporate Law Forum is an independent members-based organisation which promotes the discussion of legal issues of practical and academic concern relating to corporate law and corporate governance in Ireland. As befits the nature of a Forum, ICLF seminars and conferences aim to promote discussion and debate and provide timely guidance on a wide range of topical subjects such as directors’ duties, restriction and disqualification of directors, case law developments, EU directives and regulations and the reform of Irish company law.
The founder and Director of the Irish Corporate Law Forum is Dr Deirdre Ahern, an Assistant Professor lecturing in company law and commercial law in Trinity College Dublin. Deirdre was previously a practising commercial solicitor and member of the Law Society’s Business Law Committee and was a principal officer in the Law Reform Commission. She has published and spoken nationally and internationally on Irish and UK company law and is author of Directors’ Duties: Law and Practice (Round Hall, 2009). Deirdre is a member of the European Corporate Governance Institute and serves on the editorial board of The Company Lawyer and the Journal of Business Law. In November 2011 Deirdre was elected as President of the Irish Association of Law Teachers.

Membership of the Forum is open to solicitors, barristers, in-house counsel, public sector employees, company secretaries and academics with an interest in corporate law and corporate governance matters.
